Luffenham Heath Golf Club

Luffenham Heath Golf ClubIdeally situated, only 4 miles from our cottage, is the Luffenham Heath Golf Club. It is widely acknowledged by golfing enthusiasts as one of the finest and most challenging heath-land courses in the Midlands and beyond.
The clubhouse provides attractive and comfortable surroundings for both members and visitors.  An appealing bar and veranda lounge area is the ideal place to discuss your round. A wide choice of freshly prepared meals and snacks is available all day in the dining room or lounge.  From the veranda there is a delightful view of both the 1st and 18th holes.

Visitors are welcome Monday - Friday, with the exception of Tuesdays (Ladies Day) and at weekends and public holidays 10.30 - 12.00 and after 2pm.

 

Burghley Park Golf Club

Greetham valley golf clubThe Club began on 29 October 1890 with a consent to the building a ‘links course’ on the Burghley Estate. It is situated in the lovely parkland surrounding Burghley House being adjacent to Burghley House, you have one of the most prestigious country houses together with its surrounding park famous for the Burghley Horse Trials and located on the outskirts of Stamford which was voted one of the top ten towns by the Sunday Times. It has since developed into one of the most pleasing and enjoyable parkland courses in the country. A par 70 for men and 73 for ladies, it offers many challenges but a very fair test for a range of handicap abilities.


A new club house was built in 2005 which has an open plan restaurant with an extensive patio area overlooking the impressive 18th hole.

Rutland Water Golf Course

Rutland water county golf clubPlayers have a choice of nine par 3 holes on the Hambleton course or a challenging new 18 hole Championship Normanton course. The Hambleton Course is Rutland's Premier Par3 golf course set in fabulous rolling countryside overlooking Rutland Water.


The newly finished 18 Hole Championship course with is breathtaking views over Rutland Water has to be one of the country’s finest new golf courses - with a yardage of 6816 off the whites and challenging undulating greens it is a good test of skill for the lowest handicapper but remains a friendly pay and play course with a pleasant atmosphere. This club has been featured in Todays Golfer “as the best value for money”.

Rutland County Golf Club

Rutland water golf clubThe inland links-style (18-hole) Course is highly regarded by all who play here. In addition to a Par 3 Course, the Club also provides a full range of practice and training facilities. From the back tees, Rutland County measures a healthy 6422 yards.  From the yellow tees the course offers a challenging 6188 yards, whilst the ladies face a testing 5277 yards.


The 19th century Hardwick farmhouse offers a fine view over the closing three holes and has been refurbished and extended in 1993 to provide golfers with all of the facilities expected of a modern top-line clubhouse.

Greetham Valley Golf Club

Burghley Park Golf ClubSet in 276 acres of picturesque countryside just a few minutes’ drive from Rutland Water, Greetham Valley has been carefully developed from traditional undulating farmland to create three diverse and interesting courses, each with their own unique challenges for every level of player.


The Lakes Course, at 6736 yards, is the longest of the two 18-hole championship courses at Greetham Valley.
Shorter and sweet sums up the Valley Course! This picturesque par 68, 5595 yards course has some spectacular holes across the valley.


The Academy Course boasts 9 well-designed Par 3 holes and is ideal both for novices and for the experienced player trying to fine-tune his short game.
