Rutland Water offers some of the best fishing in the region if not the UK, and is a true haven for anglers.  Trout in the reservoir can grow up to an amazing 15 pounds and huge pike lurk beneath the water, just waiting to be caught. The reservoir not only attracts leisure anglers but also plays host to some top level competitions, attracting discerning anglers from far and wide.

Anglian Water Fishing At Rutland Water

Anglian Water also offer trout fishing and coarse fishing at their water parks. A wide range of permit options is available and fishing boats can be hired from our fishing lodges at Rutland, Grafham, Pitsford and Ravensthorpe Water Parks. Trout fishing is available from March to 31 December and coarse fishing is available all year round at many of our coarse fisheries.

Eye Kettleby Lakes are situated in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside on the outskirts of Melton Mowbray, set in 150 acres of peaceful surroundings. There are seven day ticket coarse fishing lakes, these can all offer a wide variety of good quality fish. All the lakes are well stocked, this providing excellent fishing for all types of angler. They have ample parking with easy access to all swims and most having disabled access.

Eye Brook Trout Fishery (7 miles from the holiday Cottage)

Eye Brook Trout FisheryThe 400 acre water is a mature stream fed reservoir with 5 miles of easily accessed bank, and a charm and ambience normally associated with smaller waters. Good water levels are maintained all year round, even in the driest of summers the average depth is 17ft, maximum depth 45 ft. Renowned for its nymph sport and top of the water action, the water responds well to traditional fly fishing techniques. The waters are well stocked with Rainbow, joining the Native Brown Trout.
No other water sports are permitted at Eyebrook, you are guaranteed peace and tranquillity to enjoy your fishing. Not only can you benefit from the idyllic tranquil surroundings at the Eyebrook, but the reservoir also has a wide array of wildlife to be observed during your fishing. Designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in 1956, the reservoir is managed within English Nature guidelines for the benefit of all wildlife. This is particularly important for its overwintering wildfowl including numbers of Widgeon, Pochard, Teal and Smew.

Wing HallSet among acres of countryside, Wing Fisheries Lakes are made up of two good sized, well stocked lakes in the grounds of Wing Hall. Designed to offer challenges to all levels, the lakes hold general Course Fish including Carp, (Ghost and Common), Bream and Tench.
The Lakes each offer over an acre of surface area, with 20 pitches on each lake there is always space and privacy. So far the largest reported catch was a carp weighing 27lb – locally known as Nessie.
